Licence & Usage

We built this to be shared. Here's how to do it properly (and legally).

The Short Version

All consensus points on FedWell are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence. In plain English:

  • Share freely. Copy, redistribute, and use any consensus point in any medium or format.
  • Adapt away. Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial use.
  • Give credit. Attribute the source as "FedWell (fedwell.ai)" and link back where possible.
  • Share alike. If you remix or adapt, distribute your version under the same licence.

That's it. No gotchas, no call-our-lawyers-first. Good knowledge should travel.

Citing a Consensus Point

If you're referencing a FedWell consensus point in academic or clinical work, here's the recommended format:

FedWell Contributors. "[Claim title]." FedWell, fedwell.ai/article/[id], [date]. Evidence level: [level].

For example:

FedWell Contributors. "Omega-3 at 2g/day EPA benefits treatment-resistant depression." FedWell, fedwell.ai/article/abc123, 20 Feb 2026. Evidence level: Meta-analysis.

Each consensus point has a permanent URL and evidence level badge, making it easy for readers to verify the source and assess the strength of evidence.

Want to show FedWell consensus points directly on your site? Drop this snippet where you'd like the widget to appear:

Options:

  • data-topic — Filter by topic category (e.g. "keto_diet", "supplements", "metabolic_health")
  • data-limit — Number of consensus points to show (default: 5)
  • data-theme — "light" or "dark" to match your site

The embed widget is coming soon. In the meantime, you can use our public API at /api/public/search?q=your+query to fetch consensus points programmatically.

API Access

The FedWell public API is free and open. No API key needed for read-only access.

Rate-limited to 30 requests per minute. If you need more, get in touch and we'll sort you out.

What About the Experts?

Our contributors have generously agreed to share their verified knowledge under this licence. Their names appear on every consensus point they've contributed to. If you cite their work, they'll appreciate it. If you buy them a coffee, they'll appreciate it more.
